Welcome to Mountain View Library for Distance Learning Lending
First, let me say I miss all the students so much! I cannot wait to see you in person, but for now we will stay home and stay safe. I have been reading a lot, how about you?
Did you know you can check books out of our Mountain View Library? I cannot wait to get books into your hands so you can read something new without spending money.
Here’s the rules:
1. Take care of all books and return when due. If something happens to your book, please communicate with me. Remember YOU are always more important than a book, but we want our library to stay amazing and have books for everyone to read.
2. TK-2nd grade may check out up to 4 books for 2 weeks. 3rd-6th grade may check out up to 3 books for 2 weeks, since many of you are reading amazing new chapter books.
3. Books may be returned via the library books box in the Mountain View Elementary School parking lot at any time between 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday- Friday.
4. Books will be distributed through your teacher’s baskets 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
This will be an experiment since none of us have ever checked out books this way in the district. So remember to grant me some grace as we begin this reading adventure together!
If you are interested in adding/donating books to our library, please reach out to Mrs. Rusnak. We are currently working on non-fiction animal titles, diversity picture stories, and easy reader titles in Spanish/English.
I hope to hear from you soon. Book Lending will begin on Tuesday, September 1st. You will receive an email from me confirming that your books are ready for pick up!
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay home.
Ms. Rusnak

- How will you choose books? Please do one of the following the week BEFORE you want your books
Email Ms. Rusnak at [email protected] with the topics you would like to read about; for example, superheroes, spiders, and Venus Williams.
- Check out through Destiny Discover (School Picker) in your Google Browser. When you open Destiny Discover use the fields to type in Simi Valley (1st field--location) then type Mountain View (2nd field--school name). This cool app will allow you to see what books we have in our library and request them via email to Ms. Rusnak [email protected].
- Please keep in mind that you may have to wait for popular books, so always give me at least 4 titles or 4 topics. I will do my best to get you amazing books to read. Did you know we have 200 new titles added this summer?
